If we are going to see FCP-8 this is the web site that will have the first sniffing. It was very stupid of Apple to wax on about iMovie soon to be available for iPad 2 and not even mention Final Cut.
Once again Apple prove to their loyal FCP users that we are not even worth a mention even by the so called father of FCP, Randy Ubllios, who could have given us some hope of seeing FCP-8 at NAB 2011.
Just to add that we don’t have the new version of FCP. We are working from information that has been already published and is freely available.
Just a warning so you won’t be surprised; NAB could easily come and go without any announcement from Apple. They probably won’t be showing it at NAB either; they aren’t on the exhibitor list at the moment.
Apple doesn’t go to CES, and they don’t attend MacWorld anymore. They announce things on their own schedule in their own venues. With their retail stores and marketing clout, they don’t think they need to use industry venues like that; at least, that’s their attitude with all their other products.
So I know you’re going to write another post saying that Apple doesn’t care about FCP if they don’t do anything at/by NAB, but I really think that would be a misreading of how Apple operates these days.
Then again, Apple still has the ability to surprise…
Why would they talk about FCP at an Ipad event? This is an IPAD event dude!
Now, with thunderbolt, a new OS, do you really think Apple is going to forget about FCP? Just be patient…
