Our friends over at NewsShooter have been putting the new Sony a6300 through its paces, mainly in autofocus mode, very impressive. A lack of headphone socket from this camera is it’s major let down in my opinion.
Whats the point of the XLR unit if you can’t listen to your sound.
Using the CameTV Single brushless gimbal..You can see the rest of Dan’s report here : http://www.newsshooter.com/2016/03/13/lets-dance-a-video-shot-entirely-using-autofocus-with-the-sony-a6300/
Not good when there is no headphone socket. We all need to know if the reference sound track is too low or too high because it can be difficult to synchronize with an external audio recording if the volume at the camera is not within a reasonable range.
If you are doing HD recordings with say DX200, would you want/need A6300 plus gimbal or DJI Osmo for walkabouts?
Clearly the image will be better with A6300 but what about the stability?
I really like the idea of a small high-quallity cam like this for the kind of work we are doing. But I’m moving from stills to video and have some awesome Fuji lenses with an X-T1. The thought of buying lenses all over again for this Sony . . . and suddenly the price does not look so good after all 😉
Really hoping, perhaps beyond hope, that Fuji’s X-T2 will be much better in the video department than their previous efforts. Would be great to have their colour science and some kind of flat profile and a sufficiently high bitrate with the rumoured 4k.
