I can’t understand this…why would you give a co presenter like Ian Wright better kit than the presenter.

This is interesting because of Social Distancing all three presenters are coming from their homes either from iPhone, Android or a web cam. Q. Why is the main presenter Gary Lineker’s picture the worst.

Someone from the BBC will have supplied the lighting and Gary’s black background does not help things but Ian Wright’s picture is way beyond both Gary’s and Alan Shearer’s…WHY ?

Some say its a better camera and better bandwidth, but I would like someone from MOTD to get back to me as to why Ian’s picture is so much better.

Update : Some people say its down to bandwidth but a lot of its down to lighting, background (ie NOT BLACK) and I am sure Ian Wright has a DSLR rather than a mobile device.

Having been working in the video business since 1988 I have amassed a great amount of knowledge of both the kit and production values over the last 30 years.

  1. Wow, I watch that last night and was thinking the exact same thing! The quality from Ian Wright’s home was by far the best, Alan Shearer!s was okay and Gary Lineker’s was poor? I put it down to bandwidth?

  2. I wonder what happened to Part 2 of your JVC GY-HC550 Video Review.

HDW : Simple JVC did not get back to me then the Pandemic broke out.
