I have been testing a great new viewfinder for the Panasonic GH4 that fits onto the GH4 LCD itself.
You can purchase VARY-i from www.vary-i.com for 278 euros. I get to keep my review loupe which will come in very handy for filming with my GH4.
This is my first attempt at a video review since my mini stroke.
Great to see you out and about. Looks like a good piece of kit doesn’t it. Would it fit another Panasonic product like the GX8 do you think?
Nice discover, thank you Philip!
Great Idea.
Thanks Philip
FYI: I contacted Vary-i and they said no GX8 hood at the moment. Depends on demand.
Looks good. Glad to see you back reviewing gear.
Hello Philip, I wonder if I may suggest a few improvements to the Sony FS5,
1. Stop the continuous warning signs to tell you that the card is finished all over the camera.
2. If you change the zoom direction on the lens, the monitor display is the opposite.
3. The worst one is the focusing indicator, why does it go off? It would be nice if it stayed on when in manual mode or stayed on all the time.
Is it possible for you to pass this to Sony?
Also can you advise me which lens will fully function with the camera, thank you.
Hi, yes good to see you are active again and presumably very much better. I ordered a VARY-i for my GH4 which arrived a couple of days ago. I liked what I saw in your blog and can confirm that it is exactly what I have been looking for. It is very specific for the GH4 but I suspect that it would not take much for the brackets to be re-designed for other cameras with identically sized screens. OK, it is not easy to touch the screen with it on, but if you are using the camera manually as I do for focus most of the time, that does not matter.
