We have seen various snippets of low light capability with the Panasonic GH5S on the internet but none in my opinion done the good old fashioned way with a Colour Rendition Chart.
The GH5S has two native ISO settings HIGH and LOW or 400 ISO and 2500 ISO I will be comparing these beside a GH5.
Still love the Red REC button but sadly rarely use it as Panasonic have the sense to add the same functionality to the button at the front of the camera unlike the annoying Sony a7S cameras.
According to Panasonic this is 1.5 stops better in low light than the GH5. They have taken away IBIS which is a big one. Increased the price all negatives here. Plus the auto focus sucks on these cameras.
It doesn’t make sense to buy a GH5s if you already own a GH5 or if you own a A7s Variant. Plus the new A7s mk3 is around the corner.
HDW : It is certainly better in low light, I have already seen this, the IBIS is only a problem to people using the camera hand held or without a OIS lens. Increased price is a joke, prefer not to use AF if I can help it. Don’t like Sonys colour mix, too magenta.
Really puzzled by manufacturers. Sony have a really awkward video record button and a Panasonic add one that doesn’t need to be there as the front button does the same? Why bother? Do either bother to consult?
