The Olympus Pro micro4/3 lenses are a lot sharper and far better made than my Panasonic 12-35mm lens.
It shows big time on the 7-14mm f2.8 Olympus Pro lens, this beats the Panasonic 12-14mm f4 lens hands down in sheer quality of glass, they also weigh a lot more.
Both pictures taken with the Pansonic GH4 at the lens wide open f2.8, even at 12mm which has the equivalent 35mm FOV of a 24mm lens.
Have you been “flamed” by the Panaboys?
I use both Oly and Pana lenses, they both have strengths and weaknesses.
Unfortunately your headline looks like an Olympus advertorial. That is unfortunate.
All the best
Richard
HDW : I have had both lenses myself mainly Panasonic but apart from OIS the Olympus lenses especially the 7-14 are in my opinion far sharper and better made.
I wish Richard would write English instead of this silly ‘text speak.’ In any event one’s choice of lens is rather subjective and HDW is entitled to his opinion.
David. “flamed” is the appropriate term, in this context. English is evolving all the time. My apologies if you didn’t understand.
sorry, but my pana 12-35 is a lot sharper than my oly 12-40 pro (i’m working with GH3, GX8, EM-1, EM-5II)
HDW : I have both lenses myself working on JVC LS300, GH4 and GX8. The Olympus is not only better built but has far superior glass, I think you need a trip to Specsavers.
