I admittedly did not see this camcorder at IBC, though I had a cardboard cut out in my “bumf” bag. As you can expect this camcorder will be expensive, the 35mm sensor is fantastic but the glass needed to satisfy such a large sensor will probably match the cost of the camera itself.

Arri are known for quality and the Amira comes from a good pedigree but when CVP don’t even give an indication of price you know it’s well out of most of our pockets, I will guess around £45K with a decent zoom lens.

Having a 35mm sensor on a shoulder mounted camera has long been a cry from many DPs up and down the land and it takes the bold Arri to come up with the goods.

Pricing has not been confirmed yet but Arri know the Sony F55 is biting at their heals on this one.
