Having been working in the video business since 1988 I have amassed a great amount of knowledge of both the kit and production values over the last 30 years.

  1. First of all, nice graphics!
Interesting product, Philip. Never heard of these.
Hate to sound snarky, but here are a few items I would have liked to see included in the review:

    List price?
How do they compare to the competition?
Any CRI rating? (or, any green cast to them?)
They seem to have some kind of mechanical diffusion mechanism..how does it work?
What are the units made of?
    Are they well made?
Looks like an interesting stand mount, how does it work?
    Are they heavy?
    Do they come with bags/cases?
    What is their power consumption?
How long do they last on a battery?
Do they offer an anton battery mount?
650/300W output is pretty vague…what does that mean on FC’s at a given meter?
    What’s included in the box?

I’m sure we can get all that from the company website, but how did you manage to do a review that leaves so many questions unanswered?

If litepanels did only one decent thing this year, it was to introduce a version of their product without DMX functionality, which for me is superfluous and adds unnecessary cost, bulk and complexity. My view is the whole point of LED’s is to provide quality light in as small, thin and light of package possible. These seem quite porky for LED’s…is that good or bad?
