Premiere Pro CS6 “Media Pending”

Categories: Miscellaneous 6 Comments

If you are editing in Premiere Pro CS6 and get a “Media Pending” after importing a file, look at the file structure to see if there is more than one MXF file in the folder. I waited over 10 minutes for the “pending” to disappear on a file that was less than 60s long.

If this is the case you will need to drag and drop the second file onto your desktop or a new folder in order for it to work properly in Premiere Pro. I don’t yet know if it’s a fault with the C300 or a bug in Premiere Pro.

I don’t have a C300, but with my Sony NX5U’s MXF clips, I can have multiple files in the same folder but have to wait while Premiere pre-processes them after import. Usually there is an indication of this on the bottom status bar of the program e.g. ‘conforming’ message or similar. It only has to do this once unless you delete the cache. Sometimes to see the clip after conforming, you might do well to switch sequences, or if in the source window, switch sources away and back again. Just 2c for you.

The clip never conformed, waiting over 10m and still no file is a bug.

  3. has anyone figured out this media pending problem I just got cs6 and am experiencing the same thing WTF Adobe

Had the same problem. Got all my pending media to work by right clicking one clip, hitting “replace with clip” and picking the same one that was pending. Then I hit “undo” and all my media was online and ready to go. Weird, but worth a try.

    Have you tried idealshare?
As far as I know, it can directly download mxf to premiere and it also can convert already downloaded YouTube videos to AVI.

I have the same problem, I imported the files by dragging them from finder (mac). I went to Media browser – located the file on the hard drive and i could see them and play them from there. Hope this helps someone.
