  1. Hi..after your review I would interested to hear whether you think that whilst the Ninja has HDMI in and out, the lack of a HDMI output on its bigger brother the Samurai, a limiting factor?

  2. It’s only a limitation if you change cameras from an AF101 to a Sony FS100. I warned Sony not to exclude HD SDI from this camcorder so your choice is now limiting.
“The AF101 has HDMI” I hear you ask, yes but if you decide to use the Cineroid you need that HDMI output…
“But the Cineroid has a loop through” yes it has but I do not recommend anyone depends on a mini HDMI socket to re loop your footage it becomes fragile.
So back to your question…if your camera has HD SDI then the Samurai would be the better option but since the majority of camcorders made within the last 2 years have HDMI then the Ninja is far more versatile.

  3. Hi Philip…I was thinking more in the general sense that the Samaurai would be limited in not having an HDMI output from a playback perspective, like for instance the Nanoflash.
