Why am I not surprised that a Canon 7D user who has been used to “perfect video footage” using his 7D now pulling down the performance of the AF100. This blog is a joke not only has he little understanding in lenses but sensors as well.

All lenses suffer flare to a certain degree, beyond f4 upwards to f0.95 you will exacerbate this phenomenon also Canon lenses are made with Canon sensors in mind not Panasonic 4/3 sensors.

So why is it not a surprise to find that this chap has found the Panasonic AF100 to be “haunted” when you can see the same problem on every camera on the planet.

I think you will find this chap has been banned from DVX USER because of his little understanding in the subject he writes about but it’s also an obvious snipe at the success of the Panasonic AF100/101 coming from a DSLR background and it’s not even April the first yet !

I am also not giving him traffic because his findings are NORMAL not PARANORMAL which is why I do not mention his name or web reference.

Citing a source who has been “amazingly accurate”, Boy Genius Report issued a brief note today claiming that Apple’s much-rumored tablet will be announced in January and will carry a 7-inch screen. Most rumors have pointed to a 10-inch screen for the tablet, and while the source does not rule out the possibility of such a model, they can only confirm the existence of the 7-inch model.

It has been widely reported recently that the size of the tablet is 10″, but there was also talk about a 7″ model. Our connect said there is 100% a 7″ Apple tablet, to be announced in January, and whether this is in addition to a 10″ model, they don’t know.

Claims of the smaller screen size, which were sporadic over the past year, appear to be picking up steam in recent weeks, led by speculation that a severe shortage of the screens could only be the result of Apple snapping up supplies.

It’s a pretty sketchy rumor, but we’re hearing that Canon’s working on a pro video camera based on a 12.1 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor similar to the one in the Rebel XSi. That makes perfect sense to us, actually — DSLRs with video capabilities like the 5D Mark II and the new Rebel T1i have definitely shaken up people’s expectations of prosumer video, and Canon’s sitting on a well-regarded camcorder division primed to pounce on a new market. According to CanonRumors, the new pro cam will look similar to the XL H1 pictured above with support for EF and EF-S lenses, sport fully manual controls as well as autofocus, and shoot 720p/30/60 and 1080p/24/30/60 to 56Mbit/s MPEG-4. Sounds pretty good, but aye, there’s a rub: word is that Canon’s DSLRs won’t ever get similar video features in order to protect this cam’s high-end $8,000 price tag — which sucks, but also makes perfect (if annoying) sense to us. It’s all rumor for now, but we’ll see how it pans out — the pro and prosumer video market are about to get crazy interesting…

HDW… Interesting but as one commentator said in a recent comment “VAPORWARE”. Don’t get me wrong no one would be happier if this were fact and there still mat be a grain of truth in it.

I do find it hard to believe that Canon Photo would be embargoed by Canon Video not to further enhance the video features on their DSLRs though it may bring back a sense of normality splitting the two camps back where they belong.

The 56Mbit/s would bring this camera up to broadcast spec and that would negate the need for 3rd party units like the NanoFlash.

As I have said before Canon Pro Video have not brought out a pro camcorder for over 17 months so we are due a solid state camcorder relatively soon. This would indeed affect the likes of Scarlet as Canon have far bigger manufacturing resources than the likes of RED…”THE RACE IS ON”.
