Good report if only Alistair could be more honest and tell the FULL story about new Sony zoom 18-250. Lens is NOT constant f3.8. It is 3.8-5.6. It is nightmare to use zoom with that kind of variable F-stop for ENG work. Regarding 11-16 zoom once again Alistair “forgot” to mention Duclos 11-16 for $3,500.
Nice summary Philip, thanks for putting it together! Did you happen to see the Floatcam Dolly Crane while you were there? I was really impressed with it, worth a mention I think. Also +1 on the Super Hi Vision, it’s absolutely unreal!
Mate what’s with the framing of your shots?
The Miller interview I presume…that fooled me big time till I watched the footage from the second camera to discover I had framed the shot with EXPANDED FOCUS engaged you can see this on the FS100 LCD, nothing I could do but to use it but it’s a good referance point on how technology can not only fool you but get you into a major predicament if you are not careful.
